Can I go to a PSB in a city other than the one my spouse's Hukou is issued in?

Jackson, I have question especially for you. A year ago we were talking about Q1 RPs. It's the third time now I'm renewing my RP at the local PSB and they're still refusing my request for a RP valid for more than a year regardless of the docs we have (proof of financial status, etc.). They basically say "here we can't provide anyone with residence permits more than 1year validity). Question 1. Any solution for this? (bc I'm spending too much money each year to back here once more to renew my RP in that specific time. I need to back to Europe for some other reason right before that time, I'd like to find a way to avoid this cost by having a RP valid for 2yrs at least). Question 2. Do you know if there is any possible way that I can use to apply in some other PSB? tnk u in advance

Tim, since you apply for Q1 type, you have no other choice but apply for the temporary resident permit in your wife's place. You should understand that the entry and exit management bureaus in different places have their own policies. That's why the bureau in your wife's city doesn't issue RP longer than one year.

By the way, I am curious what kind of financial proof you provide. You know, your wife's financial proof is the key, according to someone else who applied long-term RPs. If she can provide strong financial proof, it's possible that you may earn a long-term one.

Fred, thanks for your answer. Well, that's actually what I completely understand but I've seen some ppl saying they got their RPs in other cities than where their Spouse's ID or Hukou is from. Regarding your question, we had some bank account statements but they said it's not necessary at all. Just a copy of marriage certificate, copy of accommodation registration and health certificate (every year) together with my passport of course.

Hi Tim,
You can acquire the RP from other cities provided your spouse have a house (own/rent) in the said city. And you and your wife reside there at least for 6 months as far as my experience is concern but the requirements may varies depending if which city your residing at.

Please take note that your spouse should have a leasing contract or property title, a Temporary residence card of that city, better if she can apply for 10years validity it is an advantage. And same procedure will follow, present your medical certificate, ID of your wife, your passport and if they ask the bank account then present it but usually if you married and been together for long time they can give a lengthy Q1 RP but still it depends to the authority.
