About:Gegentala Grassland

going to Xilamuren Grassland

I've read that Gegentella is a bit much too touristy...is Xilamuren more "natural" ?

How can I get to Xilamuren from hohhot by bus ? (and how to come back in the same day ?)

I also heard the Xilamuren is more natural, but my friend was also disappointed more or less on his visit last summer. Anyway, here is the way to go:
At Hohhot Long-distance Bus Station (near the mail railway station), you can get on the bus to Bailingmiao. Tell the driver to drop you off at Xilamuren on the way. After getting off, you would be already at the grassland. Buses for this route are scheduled from 06:55 to 17:35. It takes only around 1.5h to arrive. So you can have a round trip in a day and this way is also available for the back trip.
