What is a Chinese Travel Document

Hi, I have asked question few days ago about the reason of refusal of a Chinese visa and have gotten a reply. What do you mean a Travel Document that I should apply for my newborn child when my husband is holding a PRC passport and not having a green card? I never known a Chinese Travel Document didn't mean a Chinese Visa. Appreciated for your help!

Shan, if you visit the consulate that has jurisdiction in your area, you will know what it is. However, you need to bring the following documents when you go there to apply for the travel document.

1. finished application form. Parents can sign the form on their children's behalf. It can be downloaded from the website of Chinese embassy in the USA.
2. 4 recent six months color photos in white background. Each size should be 48X33mm.
3. original and a copy of the birth certificate
4. original and copies of parents' passports information pages and all visa pages
5. original and a copy of marriage certificate
6. original and copies of resident permits in the USA

Both dad and mom should present themselves at the consulate. I personally think that you need to contact the consulate to confirm whether your son needs to apply for this rather than valid entry permit.
