what is required for a tourist visa?

Hi there, I am planning on going to China for a tourism in a few months. My question is, do I have to book the ticket first and then apply?  And are there any documents other then my ticket and passport that I must submit to the application centre.  Is there also a requirement to submit any evidence of hotel stay prior to leaving the UK? Abdul, yes, you need to book the round-trip air tickets first before you apply. The hotel booking in your destination city is also required. It should be booked in advance too. Excluding these things, your passport, finished application form and a recent passport photo are required.
