If you can, then you should prepare all required documents, such as your passport, a photocopy of the passport's info page, a filld application form attached with your recent half-length bare-headed photo, the original and photocopy of your UAE residence permit, and itinerary proofs (round-trip tickets, hotel reservations, etc.). If you can provide detailed itinerary proofs, the invitation letter is not required.
