Exit Process from China - Work Permit and Resident Permit Cancellation

Hi, I am holding chinese work permit ( valid until 2016) and resident permit ( valid for next 3 more months). Now my last working and exit date is 30 April. The work and resident permit was sponsored by my employer. Do my employer need to cancel both work and resident permit? if we just cancel work permit would that be enough? I don't need to block myself by surrending my passport for cancellation process? any easy way to do that. I don't plan to come back again. thanks for any assistance.

Hi Rockey! Just cancelling the work permit will be enough. You employer should go to the labor bureau to do the cancellation. During the process, your passport is not required.
