There is train service, the Wudangshan Train Station is just about 0.6 miles walking distance to the mountain scenic area.

If you only have one day, you can take a night train from WH to Wudangshan and tour the area in the day, then take a train in the afternoon back to WH. One daytime is enough for the mountain area.2
