It was put on the world heritage list since 1987.
That’s because the Wall represents the wisdom and diligence of the ancient Chinese people. It is a living show of the Chinese history and has existed for more than 2000 years. And has very important reference value in research on the Chinese ancient history, economy, military, culture, as well as national relation.

As most of you probably know, the main reason why the Wall was built is because it served as a defense fromantic the ancient Mongolian, but do you know any other reasons why so much effort was put into this iconic landmark?

But according to the archaeologists and historical records, the military defense function seemed to be the only reason to build the wall. It was constructed to prevent the invasion of all northern tribes, not onlt ancient Mongolians.
