My questions are:Is it important to show my financial status?should I book a ticket before applying?Is it compulsory to have an invitation letter or hotel reservation?

Ali, financial proof is used to prove that you can afford to visit PRC and return. Of course it is important. Yes, air tickets should be booked in advance. And hotel reservation is also needed if you can't provide an invitation letter.
