About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Proof of Exiting China

I am flying in to Beijing, traveling around, then flying out of Hong Kong to continue around Asia. I was planning on taking a train to Shenzhen and then walking over the border to Hong Kong, but if I do this, how will I prove my plan to exit mainland when I apply for a visa? I don't have a round trip ticket... it seems like the plane ticket out of Hong Kong would show that I'm not going to stay in mainland, but is this enough? Must I find a different way to exit ? If so, recommendations?

Allie, I think the plane ticket for leaving HK is ok for your application. If you don't have the invitation letter, you need also provide hotel booking information too.

Plane reservations were not necessary. Address of where you are staying is all that is needed. The more detailed your itenary, the more details you may need for the application. It may be worth the money to have AAA get your entry permit for you as they(contracted out to other agency) submit quantities at a time and even familiar with the consulate and thier querks. Once in China, it is easy to move around. I only needed my passport once when exchanging a large amount of US currency for local currency.(no fee and best exchange rate if done at a bank instead of money changer at airport)
