I think you need to take a train from Beijing to Zhangye first. You can take Z69 train. It departs at 10:00 and arrives at 04:36 next morning. It costs CNY367 for a hard berth. Then you can take no.1 bus to the downtown area. There you can hire a taxi. It costs around CNY 120. If you catch a taxi from the railway station, it costs at least CNY150.
