About:China Visa on Arrival

VOA for Norwgian Passport holder

Hi - allthough I have applied through an agency - I have been informed that the China Embassy in London do not accept application now - so I need to try to do this at the boarder. I have all the normal forms including invitation letter - will this be ok? and - how much time do you think this will take?

Ann, it's a pity that the VOA is not available under normal circumstances, unless in certain cities. Therefore, I think you still need to get one entry permit in advance. It's true that the embassy in London does not accecpt appications now, but you can apply through the CVASC center over there.

Thanks for this - I have been informed that I can get a VOA at the border in Huang Gang whille you wait service. I am driving that way so hopefully this will work as there is no time to do it through here.

Hi Ann your post is helpful. I fly into HK on eve of 22 April but need to be in Guangzhou on the same day for the canton fair the next morning. The next appt in London for an entry permit is 21 April therefore I need to apply for a VOA. Is this possible and where is the nearest point to HK airport?

Hi Victor - I have been told by my Chinese colleagues - who have double checked (!) that you can get VOA at Huang Gang border office - I am driving to Guangzhou as well - so have been told that you can get it while you wait, usually between 30-50 min. you can get there by train from HK or by car.
Good luck... I do think you have to be there in time for getting it before 6pm.
