About:Shuaiyuan Redware Teapots Museum

Can i change my "family residence permit" to a "work residence permit" without leaving china?

I currently hold a "temporary residency permit for family" (my wife is Chinese). If I become the legal representative of a Chinese WOFE, am I able to simply "swap" the type from "family" to "work"? without leaving? or do I have to go through the whole song and dance of exiting the country, applying for a Z type etc?

As you have already got the temporary residency permit, I think it’s possible to change the Family type into a Work type without leaving. You can just go to the local Exit and Entry Administration to do this. Only if you are denied by the officer, you should exit and apply for a Z type.
