appointment needed for visa expedite at chicago consulate?

I am traveling to China and need to expedite my application. I plan on going to the consular office in Chicago, but do not know if you need an appointment and cannot get a hold of anyone via the phone. Does anyone know if it is walk in or by appointment? Also, am I able to submit all applications for my whole family when I go?Thank you!

Hi Tracey, you can just walk in and submit the application. No appointment is needed. In addition, you can submit all applications for your whole family.
