Two direct transit permits. Same for the 72 hour visa?

Hi,
I'm flying roundtrip from Los Angeles to Singapore with layovers in Beijing during my departing and returning flight. Can I get off and sight-see in Beijing both times? My entire trip will span 4 weeks. Is there a limit to how many times in one month you can use the direct transit permit?

There is no limit to the times per month that qualified passengers can use the direct transit permit, so you can visit Beijing during the layover both times.
