About:China Business Visa

I am on an X2 visa in china and need to get an M ype.

I am a united states citizen and will be traveling to hong kong at the end of april from shanghai. is it possible to get an M type in hong kong? (i have a letter from a chinese and american company explaining my business purposes).

Tim, I would not suggest you apply in HK. As the rule says, all applicants who apply in HK must have their resident status in HK. So you'd better apply for the M type directly from Chinese consulate in USA. It's the safest and easiest option.
