which street is better in shanghai? xintiandinanjing pedestrian street?

are both similar kind of places? if i visit nanjing rd, should i plan this place during my trip?

No, it’s not the same kind actually. The former is an attraction which has both modern and traditional culture in it. There you can better feel the past and the present of the city. Nanjing Road Pedestrian is one of the most famous and important business street in the city. There are lots of brands and affordable stores. If time is sufficient, it is suggested to go both.
