About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Slightly more than 72 hrs, are we eligible for transit visa?

We will arrive in Beijing from Australia on 24/12 at 05:50 and will fly out to Zurich on 27/12 at 06:45.

Quang, I heard that in many cities, as regard to the 72 hour free transit policy, the 72 hours count from the midnight after passengers' arrival. If it's true, you can stay to the last minute of 27/12 and you layover time is not beyond the limit. You can confirm this with Beijing immigration authorities.
