About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

Do I need a visa? If so, which kind? how much does it cost? I am on Australia passport.

I am arriving in Shanghai by cruise ship for 1 day,20-05-2015. I booked tour for 4.5 hours. My next destination is Busan,South Korea.

You needn't apply one if you just transit for less than 24 hours in Shanghai. Since you need to get off the ship to join the tour, you just need to apply for a stay permit at the immigration point. It's free of charge.
