how to get an invitation letter?

I am traveling to China with a friend for a short visit and am applying for a L type visa.  How and who am I supposed to get an invitation letter from?

Hi, do you know someone or some travel agencies in China? If yes, you can ask the individual or agency to issue you an invitation letter. If no, you can use roundway flight tickets and hotel booking orders to replace the invtaton letter.
