About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

I am a Nepalese national and I want to apply for Tourist visa to Hong Kong for around 2 - 3 months.

I would like to know how much the visa or the procedure of getting the visa would cost. Also, I am living in the UK (Indefinite leave stay in UK - my father was British Gurkha). I know that I need to talk to HK embassy but anyone knows the costs of getting the tourist visa? Thank you so much.

Shilma, you can apply for a tourist type from Chinese embassy/consulate in UK. However, the duration of stay is decided by the officer. I am not sure if you can acquire two or three months L type. If the duration is short, you can still try to extend your L type in HK. As for the cost, Chinese embassy doesn’t specify it on its website.

Another option is to apply from the HK Immigration Department by post. It costs around HKD190. However, it takes four to six weeks to receive your entry permit.

The requirements are the same:
1. finished ID1003A form
2. valid passport with at least two blank pages and a copy of your passport information page
3. your legal entry permit/ resident permit in UK (original and copy versions)
4. a recent passport photo
5. recent three months bank statement. You should have more than 500 pounds in your account per month
6. a letter from your employer or school or a copy of your own company’s license
7. return air ticket and hotel booking in HK under your name
