About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Transfer of visas from old passport to new passport.

My passport has run out of pages and I am applying for a new one. I have a current one year Chinese multiple entry permit with 10 months validity left on it. Can I transfer this to my new Passport?

Chris, the regulations for this issued are different in different immigration authorities. Some say that after you get a new passport, you have to apply for a new entry permit too. Some say you can hold both passports when entering the border and no need to apply for the new entry permit. So you should confirm this with the embassy or the immigration office of your intended entry point.
