They killed people, families and burned down houses for there own enjoyment that is why they became so famous.

Marie, it's true that their soldiers committed crimes that you mentioned. However, one thing you can not deny is that they conquered many countries and finally established mongolian empire. Its territory once exceeded 35000000 square kilometers.
