Marcus from England - Travelling to Guangzhou then Singapore and Back to Beijing.

Hello, I am a British passport holder. I am travelling to Guangzhou on a business trip and have an invitation letter from a business there,

1. do i have to make accomodation arrangements as well before applying or can i sort accomdation when i get there as the company have told me they will sort that out.

2. as i am leaving Guangzhou to go to Singapore for another business trip will i require a pass to re-enter again after to go to Beijing for a leisure visit of my frineds working there who will put me up for a few nights?

3. Do i need to disclose that i will be re-entering or does my entry permit which i should get from the 90 days invitation letter from the Guangzhou business still cover me for flying in and out during that time?

Marcus,

1. You needn't get your accomodation arrangements done before you apply for the M type.
2. It depends on how long you stay in Beijing and whether you will visit other places in mainland. If you stay less than 72 hours and don't go other places out of Beijing, you may make use of 72 hours free transit.

Otherwise, you are required to apply for a L type for re-entering Beijing. Just ask your friend to send you an invitation letter and then you avoid providing return air ticket and hotel booking. However, I am afraid that you can't apply in Singapore if you don't have Singaporean PR, WP, EP, STP, DP or SVP.

3. Well, you may try to apply for a double entry M type by disclosing that you will re-enter. If your application is granted, then you can use your second entry to visit your friends.
