How to go to Wujiang or Tongli from Shanghai city?

I was told that, to visit Wujiang or Tongli, there were tourist buses starting from SH every morning. Are there better ways? How can we get bus tickets in advance? To your opinion, which of the two is more interesting? How about Zhujiajiao? I will be staying near the Cultural City, Fuxing Middle Road. Thanks.

In the West Long-distance Bus Station, from 07:10 to 19:31, there are 16 direct buses to Wujiang city, and the bus fare is CNY35 around.

To Tongli, at SH Stadium or Hongkou Stadium, one tourist bus is scheduled each day, both at 08:30 and gets back at 16:30. The fare is CNY120, including round trip bus tickets and the entrance ticket of the town. You need to go to the two mentioned stadiums to book the tickets in advance.

The bus info mentioned above shall be the best way to go!

Personally speaking, Tongli is more interesting, and Wujiang is just an industrious city, there is few attractions. Zhujiaojiao is also a old town, but it’s different from Tongli, it is water based, and Tongli is Garden architecture based.

If you want to visit Zhujiaojiao, take a taxi to Pu'an Road, East Yan’an Road in 10min. Then take the Huzhu Express bus line to the town.

Hi Tina, thank you for your answer which is very helpful. I have mixed up names: I want to visit Wuzhen (乌镇) and not Wujiang. Do you know how to get there? Is it more interesting than Tongli? Thanks again, cheers, Sun

In SH South Long-distance Bus Station, there are about 12 direct buses to Wuzhen from 07:35 to 18:23. The bus ride is about 2 hours.
From the cultural city, you can walk about 0.5 miles to South Shaanxi Road to take the subway line 1 to South Railway Station. Get out of the Exit 1, you can walk to the nearby south bus station. Or you can take a taxi from your hotel, which may cost you CNY30 around.

Yes, Wuzhen is more interesting than Tongli, and it enjoys a sound reputation and it is much larger than Tongli.
