re-register at the police station when back in china

ok i know you must register everytime you enter. but i would like to know if its possible for me to stay 1 night in a hotel and let them register me? i have my own appartment, but i have been doing this for 2 years without any problems. Recently i heard you must also go to your local police station to register even if you have stayed in a hotel on arrival. any advice?

Jeff, I didn't hear that those who stay in hotels are required to register at the police station on their own. However, the rule requires that you still need to register at the station on your own even you stay at your own home. So my advice is to go to the police station for registration on your own within 24 hours after you arrive. The process is easy.
