Chinese entry permit for Irish citizen working in Korea

Hi, Is it possible to get an entry permit for longer than 30 days if applying for it through the embassy in South Korea as an Irish citizen? I'm looking for a 90 day one but all the travel/visa agencies are telling me the max I can get is 30 days, even though my Irish friends can get a 90 day one back home. Would my only option be to post my passport back to Ireland, have family or friends apply for it on my behalf and then send it back?

Pudding, the validity and duration of stay are different. Usually, a single entry one is valid for three months. However, its duration is just 30 days. It's possible that you can make the extension after you arrive. If you succeed, you can stay another 30 days.

I wouldn't suggest you send all your documents back to apply. According to Chinese embassy, the applicants are required to stay in the country when their applications are submitted because interview is required sometimes. It's too risky to do as you said.
