About:Drinking Water in China

I live in Changchun, is the water quality similar to this article in Changchun?

Hi thanks for this wonderful article.

I have a 5 month old baby boy, i want to start introducing water for him , i read online that mineral water is dangerous for babies because it contains high amount of salts such as Na+ etc. so my doctor in America suggested me to give him Tap water instead. however i'm not sure if tap water is safe in Changchun? is it safe to give him tap water after boiling it? is the water quality same in all over China?
Thanks again .

Hey, the water quality in Changchun is ok. Just remember do not give him water from the water tap directly. Do give him after you boiling it. It would be safe enough.

Dear Nureini. This is Shayne from Melbourne, Australia. We have what is considered very good tap water here however, like all governments around the world one could question what is in it and the benefit of such chemicals to our bodies. Personally, I don't drink the water from the local swimming pool, but tap water contains chlorine. There are countless documentaries on the harmful effects of fluoride on the body also also. Don't believe fluoride is bad for the body? Read the warning on the back of toothpaste tubes. Lye is another concern. Sure, it protects those water pipes from rusting, but is it good for 'our' pipes? Anyway, long story short our family bought a water ioniser Made in Japan 18 months ago and it was the best decision we ever made. Strips chlorine out and even fluoride (separate filter) if you want. Provides 8.5pH-9.5pH drinking water, plus four (4) other types of water.

If you going to China.Just boil the water in your hotel room before you drink it,you be just fine.If you going out to eat in a restaurant,if it a big restaurant 50/50 they already did it for you,but you always can drink hot tea for precaution.
