About:How to Buy Tickets

travel without passport

Dear all,
I applied for my residence permit today, means, my passport is with the registration process now and I can not show it to the officer when buying a train ticket. However, I need to travel to Shanghai from Jiangsu Province and I am wondering how to do that. I already got my Alien Employment Permit, together with a copy of my passport, would that work?

Would be happy about any advice how to buy the train ticket "without passport". (The buying process is familiar to me, I did it a lot.) Thank you!

Cheers,
Tina

According to the policy, you need the passport to buy it. You can have a try by using the passport copy at some ticket office to see if it can work. If not, you need to go for the embassy or local police to offer you a identification paper.
