About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

How can I get a chinese visa while travelling for six months?

My husband and I are heading off for six months starting in September 15 (we are UK citizens). We have booked round the world flights to include china on the way home and I didn't realise that I can only apply for only 3 months prior to entering the country- by this stage we will already be travelling which makes application very difficult. My sister lives in Perth Australia and we will be there for six weeks in January with a view to going to PRC early March. Is it possible for us to apply while in Perth even if we are just tourists there ourselves?

Another option is getting them in Hong Kong but this seems to be very expensive. Is it possible to apply before we leave in September that will be valid until after March when we hope to enter?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Katie, you can get it at the CVASC center in Perth. To begin with, you need to prepare your passport, a passport data page copy, a filled-out application form affixed with your full face color photo, the original and photocopy of your Australian entry permit, and itinerary proofs, including flight tickets, planned visiting itineray, etc.

The China entry permit becomes valid from the date of issue, and the validity for single-entry tourist L type is usually not longer than three months, so it's impossible to apply in September and use it in March.
