how much would hired car be for 6 hours in chengdu?

I am arriving  on 22 MAR and want to take the boat tour to see the GIANT BUDDHA in Leshan.   The Prices I am getting (from Tour Agencies) for nothing more than transportation is extremely high.  I am wondering IF I could get hired car for 6-8 hours and see what i want to see around Leshan? I am 79 and cannot do much walking. I have been advised to just use Taxi to get to PANDA BREEDING CENTER.. do you concur with this being safe and best way to get there? Best Regards, SAM

Hey, to panda breeding center, if you take the regular taxi, it would be safe and the best way for you. The fare shall be CNY30-40. To hire a car for about 6 – 8 hours to Leshan is expensive. The price would depend on the size, the quality, and the brand of the car. But it would be no less than CNY1000. Or you can use public transportation. At Xiannanmen Bus Station, you can take a direct bus to Leshan Xiaoba. After getting off, ride a taxi to the Giant Buddha directly.
