About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

visa for my daughter: 2 months baby - i am french working in shanghai and my wife is chinese.

Dear all,
I face some difficulties to obtain a visa for my daughter born in shanghai early january 2015-She hold a french passport and was declared at french consulate as french citizen. But her mother is chinese so according to china article 4, any child born in china territory from one parent chinese are CHINESE ONY ...(no binationality recognised): as such impossible to simply issue a letter to ask change in nationality ...We have to go to my wife Hukkou in Hubei to obtain an single exist permit so we can go to france ,there apply for a chinese S1 type (> 6 months for parents of foreigners working in china ) and finally when back in china apply for resident permit .....
Do you run similar case and is it a simple way? Do i have to go with the baby to marseille -china consulate myself or can an agency do the application for S1 type? Claude

Claude, please dont' worry too much. Once your kid acquires French passport, she won't be a Chinese anymore because China doesn't acknowledge dual-citizenship. When she acquires her French citizenship, she wasn't a Chinese anymore.

You may try to visit local entry and exit management bureau to ask whether your daughter can apply for S1 without leaving. If they say NO, then you may try to ask a agent to help you without leaving or applying in HK.
