About:National Holidays in China

How many days a year in total do the Chinese get off work?

In all how many days of holidays do Chinese get every year approximately all together and not have to work? Is everything closed in China during these holidays? And if not what kind of businesses remain open?

Harley, there are around 52 weeks every year. If you conclude weekends, Chinese people can rest 115 days (52X2 weekends plus 11 legal holidays). Most businesses are closed from January 1 to 3 of Chinese New Year Holiday according to Chinese lunar calendar. It's time for them to reunite with their families. However, shopping malls and super markets are still open. The operating hours are just adjusted.

Total 11 public holidays in not true because 4 of them must be covered by working in the weekend. Before New year rtghere is one working day in Saturday and after holiday one working day in Sunday. Same with one week NAtional Day holidays. So actually one week holiday is onkly 3 days because two days must be cobvered by working weekend.
I work in China and I have 9 public holidays totally.
