Is bank statement needed for applying F Visa

Hi. Anyone can answer me.
last november 2014, i got Z type and went to china. my employer cancel my contract due to number of employee.
now, i will be applying for F type since i have an invitation to do cultural exchange. my question is: do i need to present bank statement? my trip is sponsored by a company. please reply to this immediately. what will i do?
