Don't worry! It is very safe for a female to travel alone. And yes, the scenic spot is open during that period. As it is during slack season, the operation hours are from 08:30 to 16:50 (Oct. 16 to Mar. 31 in the next year).

Oh, you are brave. For a solo traveler, I suggest you go to some large cities and areas for all convenience. Apart from the two parts you mentioned, the West Lake in Hangzhou, Classical Gardens in Suzhou, the Bund, Nanjing Road and Pearl Oriental TV Tower in Shanghai, Pearl River and Chimelong Resort in Guangzhou, OCT East and Window of the World in Shenzhen, Li River in Guilin are all great destinations. Have you make a detailed plan for the trip? Maybe I can help you with more details.

Hi Patsy, I travel around China as a female on my own all the time, I wouldn't agree at all with the advice to stick to big cities, you can go wherever you like, no problem. These days many people in rural areas (especially young people) are delighted to try out their English on you, and it's pretty good. I really wouldn't worry at all.
