Should I go to the embassy or consular office in Namsan
Do I need to our have the airline ticket before the visa

If I also need to visit Macau do I need another visa for same and where do I apply for it

Sam, you'd better apply from the consular department of Chinese embassy. You can take subway line 4 and get off at MYUNGDONG station, get out from the Exit 3 and then walk around 400 meters toward Namsan to find the consular department.

Yes, you should get your air tickets and hotel booking done before your application. You need to for separate ones for Macau and HK. I am not sure if Chinese embassy can handle your application for HK Entry Permit. If they don't, you are required to post your application to HK Immigration Department directly. It costs around HKD190 and takes about four to six weeks. For your Macau entry, the consular department can deal with it. It should take around 4 working days. I am not sure how much it costs because the fees are not specified on its website.
