Do we need a visa if we are on a ship organized tour for a few hours?

We are US passport holders. Will be arriving in Sanya, China on Royal Caribbean ship in October, 2015. Do we need a visa if we are on a ship organized tour for a few hours? Thank you.

As you will just stay for several hours, no visa is needed. But if you wanna leave the port to tour the city, you have to apply for a stay permit at the port.

Hi MPM
For US, you can't get arrival visa, but must apply before coming if you want to land there.
Hope it can help you

If the layover is within 24 hours, no visa is needed. Don't worry! :)
