About:Year of the Snake

Hi my name is Patricia. my birth date is 3/25/65. will my 17 yr. marriage relationship get worse?

I have moved closer to complete self-actualization(through personal coaching and earning my clinical psychology degree in psychotherapy), my husband has become increasingly more dissociative. I am on a roller coaster emotional ride between wanting to divorce him and wanting to put up with it for our 13yr. daughter. He's a great father, excellent provider, does every household chore while I have been in school, but remains emotionally distant. He has been like this from the beginning of our relationship I could only place my finger on, "he's a hard person to read...same emotion for everything (which is a flat affect) but laughter. I now know he has great difficulty in expressing ANY type of emotion do to an attachment disorder.

Sounds like you should accept him for who he his. If he's been like this from the beginning then why have you waited for a child and 17 years of marriage to decide to devorce him.
