About:Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Earthquake, is that still accurate?

I heard that an earthquake destroyed the panda base of Chengdu a few years and that the pandas were moved to another location. Thank you in advance for your quick response.

I'm afraid not. As I know, the earthquake in 2008 destroyed Wolong Natural Reserve instead of this panda base. So it should be pandas in Wolong that were moved to another place afterwards accordingly.

The research centre is open, we were there in January. There are about 40-50 pandas there. You can get reasonably close to them ( 3-4 metres ) but you cant hold the babies or have photos with them.
