Dress in May in China

Can I wear three quarter length trousers(between knee and ankle) in May when on an organised tour of Bejing and Xian and Shanghai?
What sites require long clothes? Do i need fancy clothes for a 5* hotel? Could I wear comfortable walking sandals?

This kind of trouser is ok for you to tour around those cities. The temperature during that period of time is comfortable and cool. And you can bring your T-shirts and jeans. :-)
Well, it's not necessary for you to wear fancy or fomal clother for the hotel. But you are suggested to wear clean clothes. About the walking sandals, you'd better consult the staff of the exact hotel. :-)
