Apply from French west indies

Hi, I have been trying to contact the paris embassy but have no luck of getting through the telephone. My husband, children and I are travelling to australia from an island called guadeloupe it is the French West Indies, other island's chinese embassy have advice that we have to apply through paris but as where we are we cannot travel to Paris to apply in person:-
1. are we able to apply by post?
2. I'm a australian citizen who have a permit to stay here in the FWI can I apply with them from Paris or should I apply when I return to Australia?
3. Are we able to apply in Australia even thogh my husband and children are french citizen visiting Australia? What additional documents will they need?
4. I have been to China 20yrs ago, I don't think I have retained the previous passport. Do I still need to provide proof?

Hi Annie!

1. You are not able to submit the applications by post as the CVASC center in Paris does not provide postal service.
2. As you have a stay permit to live in France, it's fine for you to apply with your husband and children from France.
3. They can apply from the CVASC center in Australia and they are additionally required to provide the original and photocopy of their entry permit for Australia.
4. You don't have to provide your previous entry permits for China.
