About:Year of the Sheep / Goat / Ram

why is it called the year of the Goat in Western Civilizations and the year of the Sheep in Asia?

No profound reason. Just because the western people and Chinese people have different codes of language. In Chinese language, Yang doesn't reveal its sex or kind. However, it seems that there are different words that are used to name different kinds of Yang in English, such as goat and sheep.
