visiting Beijing but staying with a friend.

She is a British National working in Beijing, I'll be staying at her apartment and visiting for roughly 3 weeks. What visa do I need to apply for and what paperwork do I need?

Emily, you need to apply for an L type at the CVASC office in England. Documents you may be required to submit are your valid passport, a photocopy of the info page of the passport, a fully completed application form with a recently taken passport size photo, and an invitation letter from your friend.
