About:China Facts

What is cram school?

I heard it's like Saturday school. What's that about? What makes it different than regular school? Does that mean the only day off is Sunday?

Danni, you may take it as after-class school. Yes, it is like Saturday school because students go to study at these schools on weekends.

Is it just to study?
Or an actual day with different subjects being taught like during the week?

Danni, the courses taught at the cram school are supplements to what they learn at school. The fact is that many students are forced to study at cram schools. If they don't, they won't keep up with their classmates. Their purpose is to earn high scores in the exams.
