About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Direct Transit visa - arrive beijing, leave beijing via another chinese city

I understand with the 72hour free entry, you must exit chinese customs in Beijing. If I arrive in Beijing and my flight onward out of China is via another chinese city (within 24 hours), would I qualify the direct transit? I.e, I'm exiting Chinese customs in my transit city from Beijing to Country B

What is your detailed itinerary? Beijing-another city-country B, right? If so, you qualify for the direct transit.
