About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

I have been married to a Chinese lady for 10 years... I am presently in China on a "L" visa.

Can I change it to a Q1 while I am here in China?

Tom, it's difficult to change the L type to Q1 type when you are in China. You can try to do it at the local Exit and Entry Administration Bureau, but I think there is only a little chance that you can do it successfully. In case that it can't be changed, you have to leave China and apply for the Q1 type.
