Waiting Tine at Pudong, do I need visa or am I qualified for free transit?

I am a Philippine Passport holder traveling to Los Angeles from Manila in April 2015 with layover at Pudong Shanghai International Airport for 9 hrs 55 mins. I want to see the nearby city while waiting for my connecting flight. Thank you very much.

Romy, you are qualified for 24 hours free transit. If you plan to exit the airport for a trip during your stay, you should apply for a stay permit when you arrive. It's for free.
