About:China Student Visa

visa for a child

Hi! Please advise if both parents would like to study Chinese language in China University and apply for a student (X) type, what kind of entry permit do we need to apply to take a child (9 y.o.) with us to enter China together.

Hi Tanya, you can add your child's information to one of your passports as the accompanying person. By doing so, the child can have the same entry permit as you. Not sure about the feasibility, just for your reference.

Our child has her own passport. I thought maybe it's possible to apply for X type and for dependant S type for child at the same time? Or apply for L type for a child? Who can help with the advice of options for us?

Sorry, you can just apply for one at a time. It's impossible to get two at the same time. It depends on your children's purpose of visiting China. If they just come for a holiday, then a L type is ok. If they plan to study in China, then X types are required. Of course, they can apply for a S type to stay with you. However, they can't study with this type.
