About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does direct transit apply?

I have a standby ticket Shanghai to Sydney. I will fly in to Shanghai from Hong Kong. does the 24 hour direct transit apply? The standby ticket has lots of available seats that will leave within 24 hours.

Aussie, if you want to avail yourself of the direct transit, you must provide air tickets with confirmed seat and date. I don't think the standby tiket will work.
