Applying China Tourist Visa at Phuket

Is the Phuket Consular Office issuing tourist types for UK passport holders?

As the consular office in Phuket has been opened to the public on November 6, 2014, I guess you can apply for the tourist type there, but I'm not sure for that because on the website of the embassy posts a message saying the office does not offer consular services by then. May be the contents have not been updated from then on. Anyway, you can confim it with the consular office by dialing 0066-76-304219.
